Tour Plan

Day 1 Airport – Berat (UNESCO) (1 hr driving time)

Meet at airport at around midday or afternoon and transfer to our hotel at the wonderful town of Berat a UNESCO protected town and one of the most attractive towns in Albania. We check in at one of the boutique hotels full of character in the old quarter and then free to explore the beautiful old town of this UNESCO City. Welcome dinner at local restaurant or hotel.

Day 2 Berat (no driving)

After breakfast we visit the Castle and the Onufri Museum. Berat castle is of particular interest as people still live within its walls in their traditional houses, as have their ancestors for centuries. The castle used to have over 40 churches of which 7 still remain, including one turned into Onufri Museum. Onufri was an Albanian Icon master painter of the 16th century who painted many orthodox churches in Albania and Greece. return to Berat for overnight. 4* boutique.

Day 3 Berat – Apollonia – Tirana (3.5 hours driving time)

After breakfast we depart for the ancient city of Apollonia one of the most important ancient centers in Roman times on the famous Via Egnatia. The famous Roman orator Cicero, astonished by the beauty of Apollonia named it in his Philippics, magna urbs et gravis - a great and important city. Octavian Augustus studied philosophy there until he heard news of Caesar’s murder in the Senate and went on to become the next emperor. Visit the city and an Orthodox monastery turned into archaeological museum. After this interesting experience we depart for Tirana the capital. Overnight hotel 4* boutique.

Day 4 Tirana – Kruje – Tirana (2 hours driving time)

Breakfast and proceed to Kruja - the centre of Albanian resistance against the Turks under our national hero Scanderbeg. He kept them from crossing into Western Europe for 25 years, thus earning the title “Champion of Christ” given by the Pope of the time. We visit the Skanderbeg Museum, a very rich Ethnographic Museum and the Old Bazaar where the best handmade souvenirs can be purchased. After the visit return to Tirana where we take a walking tour of the centre at Scanderbeg square, ministerial building and visit to Bunkart 2 a bunker museum. Rest of the evening free to enjoy the capital’s nightlife.

Day 5 Tirana - Airport

After breakfast, free to relax or take a walk on the beach until time of transfer to Airport. End of our services.
