Pick up at the airport and drive to our hotel situated on the UNESCO district of the museum town under the protection of UNESCO for 2 overnights. Check in and free to enjoy this museum town. Overnight in traditional boutique style hotel
In the morning we visit of Berat, its citadel which is still lived inside its walls. It houses also the small but very interesting Onufri Icon Museum inside St. Mary’s church. A walk around its perimeter walls offers wonderful panoramas. We continue in avillage outside berat for an agro-tourism experience anong the hills full of dense vegetation. Here on your own you can enjoy a full lunch or just some home made wine with some appetizers. Late afternoon a stroll to the bridge of the town between the Mangalem and Gorica districts which are truly beautiful and give Berat its postcard appeal, with thousands of house windows positions above each other. After breakfast drive to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO another UNESCO protected museum town with beautiful and very distinctive architecture. Visit the medieval Castle which used to be a political prison during the communist dictatorship and a 300-year-old house which showcases the skills of the Gjirokastra masons and builders as well as the traditions of living in an extended family. Independent lunch in the bazaar. Continue our drive to Butrint a UNESCO world heritage site and the most important archaeological discovery in Albania. Situated in a beautiful natural peninsula it offers a spectacular mixture of history and nature appealing to anyone. An afternoon of relax on the one of the Ksamil beaches known for their white sand and torques waters, which have earned Ksamil the nickname “Albanian Maldives”. In the drive to the capital Tirana. Stop halfay to visit Apollonia ancient site and important antique city during Roman times. Drive to Tirana. In the afternoon we take a walking tour of the capital. Visit the main sites such as the Skanderbeg Square, Clock Tower, the main boulevard and an area called the Block which during communism was forbidden to ordinary Albanians. Here the villa of the ex-dictator and other high ranking members of the communist party used to live in relative luxury while the rest of the country suffered and struggled to make ends meet.
