Albania

Albania’ cuisine is simple yet rch in fresh garden to table food. The cuisine is a mixture of influences from the Turkish, Italian, Greek cuisine but it is definitely Mediterranean in its core. Similar to Greek cuisine it does away with strong middle eastern spices, compensating instead through the use of Mediterranean herbs, making the tastes more subtle. A movement from chefs with formal training and experience abroad, has started to revive the old recipes of Albanian traditional cuisine, with some becoming extremely popular with the locals and the foreign visitors.  This culinary tour is designed to give you a good picture of what Albanian cuisine is all about.
